Seward is also the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park. Like I said earlier, the city of Seward itself is located at the end of one of these fjords, but the rest of them have been preserved as a national park, only accessible by boat. At the top of the park lies the Harding Icefield. This icefield spills glaciers out in all directions, including directly into the sea (on the ocean facing side). There is one special glacier that is accessible by road, called the Exit glacier. On the side of this glacier lies a trail, leading all the way up to the ice field itself.
