The next day we headed to La Punta which is a bit south of where we stayed along the coast. Similar to the northern end of Playa Zicatela, La Punta has a sleepy area of shops, restaurants and rental places for tourists and residents to enjoy the surf. Due to the heat of the days we spent most of our time swimming or relaxing with cold drinks. At night we maximized the cooler (but still hot) weather and used that time to go out to eat. One of our favorite features of Puerto Escondido was that most, if not all, restaurants were open air which capitalized on views and kept us feeling safe while traveling. Our dinner in La Punta was one of our favorites on the coast. We enjoyed grilled fish and fish tacos at a more upscale restaurant that still only cost us about $23 USD for the meal! We also visited a cool outdoor bar that had swings for seats and served the BEST Pina Colada.
Mexico is very beautiful. Love reading your blog and enjoy your beautiful pics.
