We all crashed after our fishing trip and thanks to the time change our visitors almost slept right through the night instead of taking a nap. The next morning we explored The Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center as well as the Homer spit. We learned that Kachemak Bay sees some of the largest tidal fluctuations in the world, with an average difference of 15 feet in water levels between low tide and high tide! After feasting on some oysters we got some more for Patrick to try his hand at shucking himself. They were huge oysters and very delicious which we enjoyed with our halibut dinner.
I love hearing about your adventures. While I will miss the Alaska posts, I look forward to hearing what your next adventures include.
