After spending the last two days near the water we decided to tackle the mountains. Santa Barbara is bordered on its Eastern side by the Santa Ynez mountain range which is filled with local hiking trails. We aimed big and picked a summit hike. Our hike ended up being about an 8 mile round trip to Montecito Peak. Although I thought I might not make it at the end I managed to get to the top!
At the peak you can see the whole coastline including Carpinteria, Montecito, and Santa Barbara. For those of you that are interested – Montecito is just south of Santa Barbara and is know for being the home to some of the rich and famous (Including Oprah). In reality driving through Montecito is just a lot of walls and gates with a few big houses peaking through… not very exciting.
Looks like a beautiful place. Am glad you are blogging. Very interesting and nice to see. Your seafood really looked spiky!
